Houghton Library and the Standing Committee on Medieval Studies present a hands-on workshop by Eric White, Scheide Librarian and Assistant University Librarian for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at Princeton University.

Participants will examine a selection of Harvard’s incunabula, with particular focus on the evidence of original ownership and use, such as inscriptions, hand-decoration, annotations, bindings, and other features, with an eye toward the histories of people who made and used them.

"Looking at 15th-Century Printing" will be offered in the morning and once in the afternoon, and space is limited. Please register for one session only. This is the listing for the afternoon session. Follow this link to register for the morning session: libcal.library.harvard.edu/calendar/main/houghton-medieval-studies-workshop-white

Workshop attendees are encouraged to attend Eric’s public lecture, “Evidence for the Earliest Export of Printing from Mainz, 1454-1467,” Monday, April 10, 5:30 PM at Houghton Library.
