Introduction to ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online: Creating Exploratory Maps

Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Online, Open to the public, Workshop,

This workshop provides all of the information you need to get started working with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and the ArcGIS Online suite of software-as-a-service (SAAS) tools and data at Harvard. You'll be shown how easy it is to create your first map in both desktop and online software and to move back and forth between each environment. I'll address finding data from many different sources but will focus specifically on using datasets available in ESRI's Living Atlas. Attendees will assist in determining which data we explore and how it will be mapped.

When the workshop is done you will know how to access your ESRI account, you will know how to find data from various sources and bring it into your map project, and you will be able to share a map product either online or as a printable file. The workshop is meant to be fun and exploratory and will not make you a GIS expert in an hour but will hopefully provide the foundation for you to be interested in learning more.
