Join the Poetry Room as we inaugurate our popular monthly Ashbery Typewriter sessions with a full afternoon of Valentine's-related activities. Feel free to sign up for individual typewriter sessions, or pop by any time between 1:00-5:00pm to handwrite a Valentine, spin some records on the phonograph, and hang out with fellow poetry-lovers.

The Poetry Room will have a selection of jazz standards queued up on the turntable, anthologies of love poems available for your perusal, and Sylvia Plath-style pink paper. We invite you to bring your own favorite love songs (on vinyl or CD) or browse the Poetry Room's vast vinyl collection.

1:00-4:00pm: RESERVED SESSIONS: To reserve a 30 minute session on the typewriter, click here. (Availability is limited). If you don't have a reservation, feel free to hang out and listen to LPs, handwrite Valentines, and/or peruse some love poems in our large open-shelf collection.
 

4:00-5:00pm: OPEN TYPE: Stop by to type a one-liner on the Ashbery Typewriter (no reservation required).
