Coffee and lunch will be provided.
This second-annual workshop is for staff across all Harvard libraries who are involved in the digitization of archives and special collections.* Come for an introduction or for a refresher. New colleagues and veterans alike are welcome to attend.
The session will focus on how to execute digitization projects, including those submitted to Harvard Library’s Collections Digitization Program, working with Imaging Services’ Materials Prep project stream.
We’ll explore the process from start to finish, including:
- How to plan, prepare, and submit a digitization project
- Digitization standards and workflows
- Materials Prep services, including project management, metadata creation, quality assurance, and digital object linking
- The role of conservation
- Tours of the imaging facilities with demonstrations
