Archives Discussion Group: High Water
The Archives Discussion Group will gather on Zoom to discuss what happens when water finds its way into the archive.
This past May, during a heavy rain, Harvard University Archives experienced a significant water incursion to their space in Pusey Library. Thanks to quick-thinking colleagues and cross-department teamwork, the damage to collection material was minimal. We are delighted to welcome Caroline Tanski, HUA's Collections Coordinator, and Jennifer Pelose, Head of Archival Projects, Technical Services for Archives and Special Collections, to talk through the events of the day; short- and longer-term responses; and lessons learned. We are hoping this meeting will be an opportunity for colleagues working in archives and libraries across Harvard to share related experiences and concerns, so please plan to participate! See attached and below for Zoom information.
The ADG is an informal space for anyone at Harvard who is interested in archives. All are welcome.
Share your ideas for future meetings with us! Let us know if you’d like to lead a meeting as a guest convener, serve as a panelist, or pose an intriguing question. Please get in touch via the ADG contact form.
