In alignment with Harvard Library’s goal of diversifying and expanding access to knowledge, the Reparative Archival Description Working Group, the SPARC EDIBA Working Group, and the Reparative Description of Visual Materials Task Group have joined together to host a virtual event focused on best practices for describing special collections by or about Indigenous people. 

The first portion of the program will be a 45-minute panel featuring speakers with experience in stewarding materials by or about Indigenous people. An optional 45-minute workshop session addressing specific questions relating to the description of Indigenous materials submitted by Harvard staff ahead of the event will follow the panel. Please note this event is limited to Harvard staff.
