Are you looking to enhance your research with high-quality datasets but unsure where to start? Join us for a workshop on Finding Datasets for Scientific Research tailored for the physical sciences, biochemical sciences, engineering, and applied sciences.

In this interactive session, you will:

Understand the importance of FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) in advancing scientific research.

Learn how to identify relevant data repositories, including generalist platforms like Dataverse as well as discipline-specific repositories. Bonus section on locating sources for machine learning datasets such as Kaggle, Hugging Face Datasets Hub, and the UCI Machine Learning Repository!

Learn effective search strategies to find datasets that align with your research needs.

Assess dataset quality and relevance by evaluating documentation, metadata, and licensing considerations.

Participate in a practical demonstration showcasing how to navigate a data repository, download datasets, and properly cite them in your work.
