Virtual Photo Workshop: Looking -> Seeing: Take a Dive into Historical Photographs Collections

Did you know there are nearly 10 million photographs tucked away in Harvard’s libraries, museums, and archives—each with a story to tell? From daguerreotypes to digital, our collections capture the evolution of photography and the world through a lens.
This year, our photo workshop series is going online!
Join us for one or both of these interactive virtual sessions, where we’ll explore historical photos, sharpen your visual literacy, and uncover hidden gems from Harvard’s stunning collections.
This session will focus on active looking, where we’ll investigate photographs from the collections to learn how to think critically about how we see images and the language we use to describe them.
Session led by:
Lilli Keaney, Harrison D. Horblit Photograph Librarian, Technical Services for Archives and Special Collections
