Research Management: Roadmap for Data Retention Policies & Practices (in-person)
What: Learn about Harvard’s research data retention policies and how to apply them to your data, including what data should be retained after project completion, where data can be stored, and when to destroy or permanently archive your data.
Why: Understanding and applying Harvard’s research data retention policies is essential for responsible research, contributes to the transparency of research results, and helps ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.
How: This is a free 1-hour webinar, consisting of lecture and discussion. This class will not be recorded.
Where: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration).
Who: This seminar is open to Harvard Longwood Medical Area faculty, research staff, postdoctoral researchers, and students from all disciplines. The policies discussed in this class are specific to Harvard University and only apply to research data resulting from sponsored projects awarded to Harvard University. There are no prerequisites or assumptions of knowledge.
