Scholarly Publishing - Ask Me Anything! A publisher’s perspective on 2025 and beyond

Scholarly publishing is critical to the dissemination of knowledge and includes all published outputs that result from research including books, conference proceedings, journal articles, preprints, and other content types. Communicating results through these outlets is an investment in the global scientific community.

This talk will explore the dynamic scholarly publishing landscape with a focus on science and engineering disciplines and discuss best practices, clarify publishing processes, and highlight recent and upcoming industry changes that will impact researchers, libraries, and publishers alike.

Topics will include AI, metrics and Impact Factor, Open Access and funding mandates, predatory journals, unethical publishing practices, government policies, and more. Followed by time for questions. 

Everyone is welcome to learn more about publishing in STEM fields.
