Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Online, Open to the public, OSRDS, Research Data Services,

Begin Registration

What: Join us for an informative session on the important steps for:

  • Onboarding new employees or trainees to a lab or new project, focusing on data planning and organization.
  • Offboarding personnel from a Harvard lab or project, focusing on data access and clear research records.

Why: Research Data Management (RDM) is essential for responsible, consistent research. Introducing RDM practices when starting a new project or joining a new lab sets the new project or staff up for success. Capturing employee institutional knowledge related to projects and datasets before they leave ensures future success.

How: This is a free 1 hour hands-on workshop. We will introduce the RDM Onboarding and Offboarding Checklists tailored for Harvard researchers. The webinar recording will be shared with all who register.

Where: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration).

Who: This seminar is open to all Harvard affiliates from all disciplines, and the public research community.

Instructors

  • Julie Goldman, BS, MLIS, Research Data Services Librarian, Countway Library
  • Edgar Franck, BS, MS, Research Data Management Consultant, Harvard Medical School

Join your peers to meet new people and learn new skills in a welcoming and encouraging environment!
