International Open Access Week, held each year in October, is an opportunity for academic and research communities around the world to learn more about the benefits of open access!

The 2026 Open Access Week theme “The Cost of Knowledge” challenges us to consider the financial, human, and environmental costs of creating, sharing, and sustaining knowledge. Harvard Library will host events and offer materials that explore the dramatic increase to costs for accessing and sharing knowledge.
