SUMMARY:AI literacy for STEM Research
DESCRIPTION:Explore how generative AI is changing the way STEM researchers
discover\, evaluate\, and work with information. This session will
introduce practical uses of AI for literature discovery\, brainstorming\,
coding\, data analysis\, and research writing\, while emphasizing the
importance of critical evaluation. Participants will learn strategies for
identifying hallucinations\, checking citations and claims against
authoritative sources\, protecting confidential and unpublished research
data\, and navigating Harvard guidance on responsible AI use. The session
will also highlight research-focused AI tools and offer practical
approaches for deciding when (and when not) to use AI in your research
 workflow.
