Letterpress Printing Workshop
Upper case, lower case, points and fonts. They have a long and interesting history! Discover how printing was done from the middle of the fifteenth century until well into the nineteenth in a series of workshops open to all Harvard affiliates.
In each two-hour, hands-on session participants will learn about the history and technology of moveable type, set type themselves, and then, using the iron handpress in the Houghton Library Printing Room, print a keepsake to take away with them.
All workshops will present the same content. Eight workshops are scheduled for the fall semester of 2018. To see available dates and to register, go to bit.ly/HarvardLibraryLetterpressPrinting
