Introduced in 1839, salt prints are the result of the first negative-to-positive photographic process and the process from which most nineteenth- and twentieth-century photographic formats were derived. This day-and-a-half workshop will provide students with the opportunity to study salt prints in libraries, archives, and museums at Harvard. The collections include some of the earliest photographic images created. Harvard curators and conservators will provide background about the scope of the collections and technical aspects of the salt print process.

Please note this is a two day workshop.
