Scrivener for Research and Note-Taking
“What is the best way to collect and retain information and build knowledge during one’s academic career?” This is a quintessential question and challenge for anyone whose work relies on creating, organizing, and using vast amounts of information (such as reading notes, research ideas, and drafts for presentations, papers, and theses). This workshop suggests a philosophy and a technical implementation using the for-fee software “Scrivener” (student license $45). This session will review how to use it to manage information in a way that allows graduate students to focus on what matters most: creating new insights and knowledge for others.
