Working with Wikipedia: Workshop for Radcliffe Summer Fellows

Thursday, June 24, 2021, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Virtual (Zoom)
Harvard ID required, Workshop,
Registration has closed.

“Wikipedia can’t be trusted; Wikipedia is not a citable source”---students hear this from their teachers and librarians all the time. Yet Wikipedia remains the bedrock not only of their research habits, but of everyone’s information environment, including much of what we see all over the web. In this workshop we’ll discuss more nuanced ways to understand and talk about Wikipedia and to facilitate students’ critical engagement with the platform.

Panelists Christine Eslao, Rebecca Martin, and Odile Harter have experience working with Wikidata, running editathons, and helping students understand their sources. We look forward to hearing your ideas and questions.

Radcliffe Summer Fellows: please register in order to receive the Zoom link (via email 2 days before the workshop)!
