For the past year and a half, Digital Preservation and Library Technology Services have been diligently planning and executing a storage refresh for Harvard Library's Digital Repository Service (DRS). Although storage refreshes are regularly conducted every five years to replace aging hardware that has reached the end of its service life, this recent refresh also introduces significant new preservation functions. These will lower operational costs and DRS pricing, increase preservation reliability and sustainability, provide curators with more control over replication policy for their content, and minimize the long-term environmental impacts of running large-scale technical infrastructure.

Please join Stephen Abrams, Head of Digital Preservation, for an open meeting exploring the new features enabled by the storage refresh. Zoom information for this meeting is included in the calendar attachment as well as pasted at the end of this email. The agenda for the meeting will be:

• Introduction to the storage refresh project
• New preservation service levels and their benefits
• New lower pricing
• Anticipated date and process of features/pricing rollout
• Questions/discussion
