Our Spring 2022 Vocarium reading celebrates the work of two sonically-charged poets of intense attunement, precision, and poignancy: Jos Charles (author of feeld and a Year & other poems) and Douglas Kearney (author of Sho and Buck Studies).
Jos Charles is author of the forthcoming collection a Year & other poems (Milkweed, 2022), feeld (Milkweed, 2018) a Pulitzer-finalist and winner of the 2017 National Poetry Series selected by Fady Joudah (Milkweed Editions, 2018), and Safe Space (Ahsahta Press, 2016). She currently teaches as a part of Randolph College's low-residency MFA program and resides in Long Beach, California. Douglas Kearney has published seven books, most recently, Sho (Wave Books, 2021), a National Book Award, Pen American, and Minnesota Book Award finalist. His 2017 Harvard reading from Buck Studies (Fence Books, 2016) is available on the Poetry Room's YouTube channel. Kearney teaches Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, where he is a McKnight Presidential Fellow. He lives with his family in St. Paul, Minnesota.
