Introduction to Web Scraping with Python

Friday, April 22, 2022, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Harvard ID required, Workshop,
Registration has closed.

This workshop will introduce a number of tools that are useful in web scraping. When the data that you need is on a website with no download option and no API access, scraping data from the web can be your best option.

This workshop assumes a basic working knowledge of Python. If you have worked with the language and are comfortable with data structures (lists, dictionaries, strings, etc), looping, and using code from libraries, you'll do just fine in this workshop.

Registrants will receive a full list of required software, but plan to have a local Python 3.7+ installation with pip available, as well as the Firefox and Chrome browsers.

The workshop will be held in person in the Science Center, in the conference room in suite 142, located next to the Putnam Gallery.
