URC Brown Bag Series: Widener Wayfinding Study

In April-May 2022, Meg McMahon, the newest member of the URC team helped lead a study focused on users’ experiences of Widener Library. Over 130 participants provided insights into their experiences using Widener Library. The goal of the project was to understand participants' user needs and possible opportunities to improve wayfinding and services.Come and learn how the team used a three prong approach, staff interviews, intercept interviews with patrons, and an exit survey for users to understand users’ wayfinding needs within Widener.


Meg McMahon (they/them) is an Information Systems professional with experience with UX/UI research & design, makerspace technologies, instruction, and visual design. Meg is the User Experience Researcher at Harvard Libraries. In their work they conduct user testing and accessibility audits and consults with library staff on their UX projects.
